Labour’s tax rises lead to Bishop Challoner School closure
Bishop Challoner School in Shortlands is to close in July 2025, after more than 70 years of serving the local community. In a letter to parents the trustees of the school state that the closure is a result of the increase in national insurance and the Government’s introduction of 20% VAT on fees, as well as the cost-of-living.
Keeping Shortlands and the Ravensbourne Valley Tidy
In May, Conservative Councillors for Shortlands and Park Langley, Adam Grant and Gemma Turrell, along with Serena Gupta, attended a litter-pick around Shortlands Village and the Ravensbourne Valley along with local Residents Associations to help keep the area tidy.
