The rodent issue was traced to a service road behind Beckenham High Street, where poor waste management and fly-tipping were identified as key contributors. The Beckenham Conservative team responded by delivering a targeted survey on 16 May 2025 to gather feedback from affected households.
Cllr. Michael Tickner said,
“Resident input was vital in identifying the scale of the issue and pushing for immediate intervention. We’re pleased that practical steps have now been taken.”

The Conservative team is also calling for further measures, including the installation of clear anti-fly-tipping signage along the service road to deter future dumping.

“We know how important clean and safe streets and gardens are to our residents,” the spokesperson added. “We will continue to monitor the situation and press for long-term solutions.”
